Perform Rescue From a Live LV Panel

UETDRRF004

About this course

Students completing this course will gain the skills and knowledge required to perform rescue procedures from live low voltage (LV) apparatus, not including overhead lines and underground cables in the workplace. It specifies the mandatory requirements of rescue from a live LV panel and how they apply in the context of transmission, distribution, or rail work functions.

It encompasses responsibilities for health, safety and risk management processes at all operative levels and adherence to safety practices as part of the normal way of doing work.

The application of the skills and knowledge described in this unit may require a licence/registration to practice in the workplace subject to regulations for the undertaking of electrical work.

Units of competency

Upon completion of this course, the following unit(s) will be issued by ABC Licence Training Pty LTD – RTO 3399

What is standard?

The Standard face to face course is a longer duration and focusses on training of skills and knowledge as well as practical assessments.

Thorough training of skills and knowledge is to prepare students for the practical assessments on the day. The standard course is for those students who require practice of skills prior to partaking in the practical assessments.

As First Aid training is refreshed every three years, unless students are regularly completing workplace training, where the practice of hands on first aid skills take place, we recommend completing the standard course.

What is express?

The Express face to face course is a shorter duration and focusses on practical assessments only.

The face-to-face session generally does not include preparation for practical assessments, as students are expected to attend the course with a level of practical experience to undertake the assessments. Students are expected to have completed a first aid course in the past, and regularly complete workplace training, or a role within a first aid capacity, where the practice of hands on first aid skills take place.

As Express courses are strictly for experienced students, should students require further training to help them complete their practical assessments on the day, the trainer/assessor may charge an additional fee or recommend students complete further training including attending a standard course.
