Students completing this course will be able to identify and provide a first aid response to anaphylaxis, develop strategies to prevent exposure to known allergens and minimize risks related to anaphylaxis.
In addition, this course will provide participants with the knowledge and skills to be able to develop an asthma management strategy and provide asthma-related first aid interventions in the workplace.
Students will gain the skills and knowledge required to perform cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) in line with the Australian Resuscitation Council (ARC) guidelines.

This course is offered as a face-to-face course. Pre-course learning is required.
Face to Face minimum duration is 5 hours.
There are no formal prerequisite units required for entry into this course. Learners will require English language, literacy, and numeracy (LLN) skills.
Face to face training consists of theory presentations and range of practical learning activities and scenarios.
Assessment activities will include a knowledge test and practical assessments including recognising and treating anaphylaxis and asthma and CPR techniques. Students will also complete scenarios in a simulated environment.
The statement of attainment is valid for 3 years.
