About this course

Students completing this course will be able to identify and provide a first aid response to anaphylaxis, develop strategies to prevent exposure to known allergens and minimize risks related to anaphylaxis.

In addition, this course will provide participants with the knowledge and skills to be able to develop an asthma management strategy and provide asthma-related first aid interventions in the workplace.

Course Details

Course delivery

This course is offered as a face-to-face course. Pre-course learning is required.

Course duration​

Face to Face minimum duration is 3 hours.

Pre-requisites​

There are no formal prerequisite units required for entry into this course. Learners will require English language, literacy, and numeracy (LLN) skills.

Training requirements​

Face to face training consists of theory presentations and range of practical learning activities and scenarios.

Assessment requirements​

Assessment activities will include a knowledge test and practical assessments including recognising and treating anaphylaxis. Students will also complete scenarios in a simulated environment.

Course renewal requirements​

The statement of attainment is valid for 3 years.
