Students completing this course will gain a set of skills to establish, maintain and facilitate the provision of appropriate first aid in a workplace environment, including the skills to provide an emergency first aid response in the event of an emergency.
These skills and knowledge apply to individuals who are either employed in or intending to become employed in, nominated occupational first aider roles.

This course is offered as a face-to-face course. Pre-course learning is required.
Face to Face minimum duration is 16 hours (2 days).
The prerequisite unit required prior to commencing HLTAID015 is HLTAID009. Learners will require English language, literacy, and numeracy (LLN) skills.
Face to face training consists of theory presentations and range of practical learning activities and scenarios.
Assessment activities will include a knowledge test and a range of practical assessments including demonstrations of CPR and First Aid techniques, completion of documentation and reporting requirements.
Students will also complete scenarios in a simulated environment.
The statement of attainment is valid for 3 years*.
*Please note that the CPR and Advanced Resuscitation components of the training are valid for 12 months and should be updated annually.
