Students completing this course will gain the skills and knowledge to perform basic water rescues in indoor or outdoor aquatic venues.
The unit applies to all workers who may be required to perform basic water rescues in a range of situations, including swimming pools.
Work is performed according to accepted best practice principles of aquatic rescues, relevant legislation and organisational policies.
Upon completion of this course, the following unit(s) will be issued by ABC Licence Training Pty LTD – RTO 3399

This course is offered as a face-to-face course. Pre-course learning is required.
Face to Face minimum duration is 4 hours.
Face to face training consists of theory presentations and range of practical learning activities and scenarios.
Assessment activities will include a knowledge test and practical assessments including CPR techniques, performing non swimming and swimming rescues. Students will also complete scenarios in a simulated environment.
The Statement of Attainment is valid for 12 months and should be updated annually.
