Students completing this course will gain the skills and knowledge to demonstrate personal awareness and knowledge of health and safety legislative requirements to work safely and prevent injury or harm to themselves and others.
It covers identifying and orally reporting common construction hazards, understanding basic risk control measures, and identifying procedures for responding to potential incidents and emergencies. It also covers correctly selecting and fitting common personal protective equipment (PPE) used for construction work.
Upon completion of this course, the following unit(s) will be issued by ABC Licence Training Pty LTD – RTO 3399

This course is offered as a face-to-face course. Pre-course learning is required.
Face to Face minimum duration is 4 hours.
There are no formal prerequisite units required for entry into this course. Learners will require English language, literacy, and numeracy (LLN) skills.
Face to face training consists of theory presentations and range of practical learning activities and scenarios.
Assessment activities will include a knowledge test and practical assessments including health and safety legislative requirements, identifying hazards and risk control measures and the use of PPE. Students will also complete scenarios in a simulated environment.
The Statement of Attainment does not expire, however, if you have been out of the construction industry for a period of 2 years or more you will need to redo the course.
