Students completing this course will gain the skills and knowledge required to provide first aid in an electricity supply industry (ESI) environment, including how to perform cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) in line with the Australian Resuscitation Council (ARC) guidelines.
It includes the recognition and provision of an initial response where first aid is required and how it applies to ESI workers to meet work health and safety (WHS)/occupational health and safety (OHS), mobility and mutual aid requirements

This course is offered as a face-to-face course. Pre-course learning is required.
For the standard course the face to face minimum duration is 4 hours
For the express course the face to face minimum duration is 90 minutes*

There are no formal prerequisite units required for entry into this course. Learners will require English language, literacy, and numeracy (LLN) skills.
Face to face training consists of theory presentations and range of practical learning activities and scenarios.
Assessment activities will include a knowledge test and practical assessments including health and safety requirements, identifying hazards, and the use of rescue equipment. Students will also complete scenarios in a simulated environment.
There is no renewal recommendation set by industry for this course.
