Provide First Aid

Our First Aid training delivery options are outlined below:

Full Day Theory/Practical – Students complete pre-course learning and attend a full day course (up to *7 hours) with their trainer. This course is ideal for those with limited experience or those who prefer to spend more time in the classroom refreshing their knowledge and practicing the skills involved in first aid, including practical and theory assessments.

Express Course – Face to Face Practical– Students complete pre-course learning and attend a shorter course of up to *2 hours with their trainer. This course is ideal for those with experience, having completed first aid training previously or for those working in the medical field. Students attending an express course will complete the practical assessments only as it is expected they have enough experience and the completion of the pre-course learning assisted with refreshing their knowledge to prepare for the assessment. One assessment will include the completion of an incident report form following a practical scenario. All theory assessments are completed prior to attending the assessment.

Express Course – Zoom Practical – This course is the same as the above Express Course, however, is conducted via zoom instead of face to face. Group sizes are capped, and the practical duration is longer than face to face to ensure all assessment requirements are met.

*Duration depends on group size.

The online pre-course learning consists of presentations, and multiple-choice questions aimed to prepare students for further training and or assessment. The pre-course learning can also be completed by a hard copy workbook, or in-class with the trainer if organised before-hand.

95% of students and instructors prefer the online method as it’s convenient and cost efficient.

When you enrol into a first aid course with one of our first aid training partners, you will automatically be emailed your login for the online pre-course learning, and you can start it straight away.

The Provide First Aid Statement of Attainment can be issued on the same day and is renewable every 3 years with the CPR unit renewable annually.

Our Provide First Aid course satisfies 3 units of competency from the Health Training Package (HLT07):
HLTAID009: Provide Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation
HLTAID010: Provide Basic Emergency Life Support
HLTAID011: Provide First Aid
These units appear on your Provide First Aid Statement of Attainment

CPR

Our CPR training delivery options are outlined below:

Full Day Theory/Practical – Students attend a full day course (up to *3 hours) with their trainer. Advanced Resuscitation Techniques
and Oxygen Therapy

Our Advanced Resuscitation Techniques course is a 4hr practical course (no pre-study) and includes CPR, defib (AED) and oxygen resuscitation training.

Advanced Resuscitation Statements of Attainment are issued same day and are renewable annually.

Our Advanced Resuscitation course satisfies 2 competency units from the Health Training Package (HLT 07):
HLTAID015: Provide Advanced Resuscitation & Oxygen Therapy
HLTAID009: Provide CPR
These units appear on your Advanced Resuscitation Techniques Statement of Attainment

Topics Include:
CPR, DRSABCD, Advanced AED (Defib),Oxygen Resuscitation, Therapy Oxygen, Suction, Oropharyngeal airways

Advanced First Aid

Our Advanced First Aid course is flexible delivery and comprises a pre-study component followed by an 7 hours in-class practical course:
The pre-study consists of 95 MCQs which can be done Online or a Hardcopy Workbook and on average takes 1-2hrs to complete. 95% of students and instructors prefer the online method as it’s convenient and cost efficient.

Advanced First Aid Statements of Attainment are issued same day and are renewable every 3 years, with CPR renewable annually.

Our Advanced First Aid course satisfies 4 competency units from the Health Training Package (HLT07):
HLTAID014: Provide Advanced First Aid
HLTAID011: Provide First Aid
HLTAID010: Provide Basic Emergency Life Support

Topics Include:
The content of Advanced Resuscitation Techniques PLUS Triage, Pain relief, Spinal injury management using spinal boards & cervical collars.

The prerequisite for this course is Provide First Aid.

Basic Emergency Life Support

Our Basic Emergency Life Support course is a 4 hour practical course (no pre-study) and includes CPR, defib (AED), choking, drowning, bleeding, shock, anaphylaxis

Basic Emergency Life Support Statements of Attainment are issued same day and are renewable annually, the CPR is renewable annually.

Our Basic Emergency Life Support course satisfies 2 competency units from the Health Training Package:
HLTAID010: Provide Basic Emergency Life Support
HLTAID009: Provide CPR
These units appear on your Basic Emergency Life Support Statement of Attainment.

Provide First Aid in Education and Care Setting

Asthma 22556VIC

Our Asthma course is a 3-4hr practical course which covers the skills and knowledge in the 22556VIC – Course in the Management of Asthma Risks and Emergencies in the Workplace.

A Statement of Attainment 22556VIC- Course in the Management of Asthma Risks and Emergencies in the Workplace is issued same day and is renewable every 3 years.

Topics Include:
1.Develop risk minimisation and management strategies for an asthma emergency
2. Assess emergency asthma situations
3. Provide the appropriate first aid treatment for an asthma attack
4. Communicate details of emergency asthma situations
5. Evaluate responses to asthma emergencies

Anaphylaxis 22578VIC

Our Anaphylaxis course is a 3-4 hr practical course which covers the skills and knowledge in the 22578VIC – Course in first aid management of Anaphylaxis

A Statement of Attainment in 22578VIC –  Course in First Aid Management of Anaphylaxis. The statements of attainment can be emailed to successful students on the same day as the course and are renewable every 2 years.

In addition, it is recommended that the skills and knowledge related to using adrenaline injectors be refreshed at least annually by having hands-on practice using an adrenaline injector trainer device and undertaking industry-relevant training such as the ASCIA anaphylaxis e-training module on adrenaline injectors

Competency Units:

VU23091– Develop risk minimisation and risk management strategies for anaphylaxis

Topics Include:
Recognise mild/severe anaphylaxis
Apply first aid to allergy/anaphylaxis

Low Voltage Rescue

Our CPR + LVR training delivery options are outlined below:

Full Day Theory/Practical – Students attend a full day course (up to *4 hours) with their trainer. This course is ideal for those with limited experience or those who prefer to spend more time in the classroom refreshing their knowledge and practicing the skills involved in first aid, including practical and theory assessments. Pre-course learning is not required for those students attending a full CPR/LVR course.

Express Course – Face to Face Practical– Students complete pre-course learning and attend a shorter course of up to *2 hours with their trainer. This course is ideal for those with experience, having completed first aid training previously or for those working in the field. The CPR & LVR Statement of Attainment can be issued on the same day. CPR is renewable annually with LVR renewable every 6 months, subject to state requirements.

There are no prerequisites for this course.

A Statement of Attainment cannot be issued for any of our nationally accredited courses unless a USI is provided to the instructor. See www.usi.gov.au
